FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

  • Hi, I live in South Africa. Are game ROM's legal to download here?
In regards to the question of Nintendo ROM files, the laws governing its ownership and transmission vary from country to country. In general, much like how it is with audio files, you are allowed to make a copy for personal use only if you have bought and own the original source. In the case of ROM files, you are required to be in actual possession of the game cartridge pc board (PCB) in order to legally retain a copy of the ROM. Check with your local authorities before downloading Nintendo ROMs off the Internet. Though the LevelUP - Quad Band Dual SIM QWERTY Gaming Cellphone comes with open source emulation software (MyNES) which allows you to play Nintendo ROMs, cannot be held legally responsible for the subsequent actions of LevelUP phone users in downloading ROMs or similar files from the Internet for use with the phone.

Google is your friend. Try "NES ROM Emulators". The files you're looking for are usually zipped or rar'ed. • As a current generation teenager I find 8 bit games so lame, what do you have to say to that?
Well the word lame is not to be used lightly certainly not to describe 8 bits games. Let me put it to you this way. If your first experience with Star Trek was through Next Generation, you might view The Original Series as lame. But could TNG have existed without the original. I think not. In the same way, awesomesauce games like World of Warcraft or God of War wouldn't be so amazing if it hadn't been for pioneers like Super Mario Brothers 3 or Legend of Zelda. IMHO, the only things aside from folks who try to impose their beliefs on you that are lame are the second and third installments of the Matrix franchise. The CG in the scene where Neo fights a million Agent Smiths was really lame. So fake! So lame! And despite what you Tolkien purists say, Peter Jackson's LOTR was NOT lame. Though I must admit that I was a little perturbed when Tom Bombadil didn't make an appearance in the movie.
  • How many phone contacts can the LevelUP hold?
The phone itself can store 500 contacts. SIM cards can usually store 250 contacts. With 2 SIM card slots, that's 1000 contacts you can store on this phone!
  • Which version of VCard does this phone use?
The LevelUP uses both VCard 2.1 and 3.0

    Yes it does.
  • Can I send photos as a MMS file?
Yes it's surprisingly easy. Once you've taken your picture, go to the image viewer to see it. From there, you'll have the option to send it via MMS or Bluetooth.
  • How do I change my ringtones?
There are several different ways to do this. The easiest is to launch the audio player. Then list the audio files available. When you are highlighting a song, you'll have the option to ADD TO RINGTONES. Next go to USER PROFILES, choose GENERAL, then CUSTOMIZE, TONE SETTINGS, then choose whether you want to change the ringtone for SIM1 or SIM2. You can have 25 different ringtones. The first 10 are default tones. The next 10 are special MIDI files. There are 5 empty spots for you to add your ringtones.
